The purpose of the Revitalizing and Starting New Churches Team is to help create and nurture healthy, missional congregations in southeast Grand Rapids.

A description of one of the ministries our team has supported in 2010 follows:

The Grace House is an urban community located next door to Grace CRC on Buckley St SE. It is part of the churches ministry in and with the Southgate Neighborhood. Now, in its second year, Grace House is helping church members to know its community better, build relationships with neighbors, and be part of the transformation of lives and neighborhood in the Southgate area. Grace House residents are involved in worship and programs at the church and they were responsible for the restart of a Cadet program by motivating and organizing volunteer leaders from the church. Grace House is a kid magnet, and a constant encouragement and motivation to the congregation to engage with neighbors for Jesus’ sake. Grace House is an entirely Grace Church-owned and operated program, supervised by a part time staff person under the leadership of the deacons.
