Adult Education Lunches
Ever wonder what other churches in the community are doing to encourage adult discipleship? The adult faith formation team is organizing a series of lunch meetings that will allow people from the classis to share ideas and find ways to collaborate. Anyone interested in adult discipleship is welcome, but we are especially interested in meeting the adult ed coordinators from each church. Each meeting starts at 12:00. Bring your own lunch. Coffee & cookies will be provided.
September 28th: Seymour CRC
November 30th: Church of the Servant

Lead a Psalms Bible Study
Calvin college campus ministries is organizing a 10-week study of the Psalms for the community, and making it really easy to put together a group. This is a great way for Churches in the Classis to connect with Calvin students. The program works like this:
1) The leaders of the group, one of whom must be affiliated with Calvin as a student, faculty or staff, register online here. If the group is aimed at Calvin students, the leaders get the study books for free. Calvin provides some optional training for leaders.
2) Students can see the group online and sign up. If you want to target the group at students who currently attend your church, you can say so in the description of the group. If so, be sure to advertise the group with the students.
3) Study questions, and music clips are available here. The hard work is already done. Moreover, the library has put together a wealth of resources on leading bible studies and on the Psalms to aid leaders
.4) The book used for the study is Eugene Peterson's Psalms: Prayers of the Heart. You can purchase this book at Amazon.com, or at the Calvin campus store.
The goal of these groups is to meet once a week for 10 weeks for one hour, with no required preparation or homework. This makes joining the group easy and limits the time comittment. Calvin chapel and Loft services will follow similar themes, complimenting the study as you go through it.
